Asheville Ghost Trolley

This week's adventure took us on the Asheville Ghost Trolley. Not quite as exciting as I would have hoped, especially for $20 per person, but it was a fun excuse to get out of the house and learn a little more about Asheville.

The tour guide was a guy who works with some organization in Asheville that actually studies paranormal activity, so he was quite knowledgeable about all of the grisly murders and related reports of apparitions.

But it was dark and gloomy outside and we stayed on the trolley the whole time so it was hard to see some of the buildings he was talking about. There's a walking ghost tour of downtown Asheville that I think we will take one of these days.

Sounds like an interesting idea. Do you ever watch Ghost Hunters on the SciFi Channel? It's oddly mesmerizing even though nothing much happens most of the time and I can almost never see or hear their big "aha's." Still, they are a likeable group. I look forward to the photos of your walking tour when you take it. Maybe you'll catch an apparition!

I would love to do a walking ghost tour. I've been fascinated with the world of the un-living since I was a kid. My wife and I are still job hunting in Asheville. Our apartment lease ends June 30... and we'll be in Asheville, Durham, or Greenville SC come July 1st even if we don't have jobs yet! Now THAT'S scary!

Welcome to the neighborhood Brandon! I had no idea you were so far along in your relocation plans. Good luck with the job search! Durham is probably an easier place to get a job and definitely much cheaper (with an up-and-coming housing market), so it's a financially wise move. But some people (like me) just can't resist coming to Asheville.

I would like to invite you on one of our walking tours. We are Ghost Hunters of Asheville and have run walking tours through downtown Asheville and Montford for over a year now. We use ghost-hunting equipment and guarantee that every tour will get paranormal photos. You can find us at www.ghosthuntersofasheville.com or my blog at http://ghosthuntersofasheville.blogspot.com.
